RHD (UK): Driver's footwell, lower dashboard to the right of the steering column, tucked up high beside the fuse box cover above the pedals. The 16-pin connector sits behind/below the pull-off fuse panel trim on the outboard side of the dash. LHD: Mirror image — lower dashboard to the left of the steering column, beside the fuse box cover above the pedals. Same location across all JF trims (mechanical-ignition and push-button-start cars alike).
The socket sits next to the snap-off fuse box cover. On most JF cars the 16-pin connector is exposed and reachable directly once you crouch into the footwell; on some cars you pull the plastic fuse panel cover towards you by hand (no tools) to get a clear hand on the plug. No dedicated OBD flap.
