RHD (UK): driver's footwell, in line with the steering column and just past the point where the column shroud ends, up above the accelerator pedal. It sits horizontally in the underside of the lower dash, so from the driver's seat you are looking at the thin edge of it and most people decide it isn't there — get on your knees in the footwell and look up above the pedals and it is obvious. No flap, no cover, 16-pin connector exposed. Same position on every X260 trim, saloon and Sportbrake, pre-facelift and facelift. LHD: mirror image, driver's footwell above the pedals just outboard of the steering column. Do not confuse this car with the earlier XF: on the older car the socket sits further inboard on the trim roll and the cabin has a rotary drive selector that rises out of the console, where the X260 has a fixed rotary selector and no key dock.
