Behind the hinged cover moulded 'FUSE OBD' low on the driver's side of the lower dash, the same recess as the cabin fuse panel. The 16-pin socket sits below the fuse rows and faces down towards the footwell. On Australian right-hand-drive cars the driver's side is to the right of the steering column, low in the panel bolster beside the driver's right knee, outboard towards the door. Same panel on every GD i30 hatch trim (Active, Active X, Elite, SR, SR Premium, Premium) because it is part of the dash moulding. If the socket isn't behind that cover, check the knee panel directly under the column next.
Hinged plastic cover moulded 'FUSE OBD'. Pull it open with a fingertip in the recess. It unclips by hand, no tools. The 16-pin socket is visible below the fuse rows once the cover is open.
