Location

Driver's footwell, on the underside of the dash immediately left of the steering column, roughly in line with and below the headlight switch and the SC fuse panel cover at the left end of the dash. The violet 16-pin connector sits above the dead pedal and faces down and slightly rearward — sit in the seat, look up and left with a torch and it is in plain sight, no trim to move. Same position on every trim (S, SE, SE with Technology, SEL, SEL R-Line, SEL Premium) and unchanged by the 2021 facelift. The Atlas is a North America-only model and is left-hand drive only, so there is no right-hand-drive position to look for.
