Location
RHD (UK): in the driver's footwell to the RIGHT of the steering column, between the wheel and the driver's door, right at the bottom edge of the small lower panel below the switch panel that carries the alarm override, lane-departure, headlamp beam-height and head-up display buttons - roughly in front of your right knee. It is not in the fuse box. Same position on keyless and non-keyless cars. LHD (for reference on imports): left of the pedals, above the footrest.

2017–2023
Mk1 (B2A)
Illustration — use it to know where to look.
Location
Driver's footwell, left of the steering column, just above the footrest and to the left of the pedals. The 16-pin connector sits at the bottom edge of the lower dash trim and is visible once you glance down at the footrest. Same position across all trims (Feel, Origins, Flair) - keyless and non-keyless cars are identical here.
How to access
No proper cover. The connector sits behind the lower edge of the dash trim and is reached by feel from the footwell - on some cars a small soft trim lip sits just in front of it that you nudge aside by hand. No tools needed and the 16-pin connector is visible once you look under the dash edge.
