LHD: Driver's footwell, left of the steering column, just above the footrest and to the left of the pedals. The 16-pin connector sits at the bottom edge of the lower dash trim and is visible once you glance down at the footrest. RHD (UK): Driver's footwell, right of the steering column, at the bottom of the small end panel below the one carrying the alarm/lane-departure/HUD switches, low down by the driver's door. Same position across all trims (Feel, Origins, Flair) - keyless and non-keyless cars are identical here.
No proper cover. The connector sits behind the lower edge of the dash trim and is reached by feel from the footwell - on some cars a small soft trim lip sits just in front of it that you nudge aside by hand. No tools needed and the 16-pin connector is visible once you look under the dash edge.
