Australian Prados are right-hand drive only, so there is one position to learn. The 16-pin DLC3 sits in the driver's-side lower dash directly above the pedal box, tucked inboard of the bonnet and fuel-filler release levers and right alongside the under-dash fuse panel. It faces downwards and slightly rearward, so from the driver's seat you are looking up under the horizontal knee trim rather than straight at a visible socket — this is why people hunt for it in the centre console, where the 120-series had it. Same position on GX, GXL, VX, Kakadu and the Altitude editions, petrol and diesel, and unchanged either side of the 2013 update.
A horizontal plastic trim panel above the pedals covers it. One cross-head screw at the outboard end, then the panel unclips downwards by hand — no trim tools needed and nothing to break. The 16-pin connector is immediately visible on the inboard side once the panel drops, close to the bonnet release. You can sometimes reach it blind by feeling up past the bonnet lever, but the panel is off in under a minute and it stops you fighting the tool cable for the rest of the job.
