Right-hand-drive Japanese-market cars: driver's footwell, to the RIGHT of the steering column, set into the underside of the lower steering-column trim panel — the same panel that carries the bonnet and fuel-flap release levers. Look up from the footwell rather than head-on and you will see the 16-pin socket without removing anything; it sits roughly above the accelerator pedal, outboard of the column. Same position on every AH20 grade, petrol and hybrid, and unchanged by the November 2011 minor change. This record covers the JDM right-hand-drive car only — left-hand-drive AH20s built for Taiwan, the Philippines and the Gulf are a different build and their port position has not been verified here.
Usually exposed under the dash edge; on some grades a small clip-off plastic trim panel sits over it — unclip it by hand, no tools needed, and the 16-pin socket is right behind.
