Right-hand drive only — this car was built for Japan and never sold there in left-hand drive. The 16-pin socket is in the driver's footwell on the right-hand side, high up under the dash directly above the accelerator pedal and just past the bonnet release lever. Sit in the seat and look up along the outboard edge of the lower dash and you will see it facing down at you, roughly level with the top of the pedal box. Same position on every VM grade, 1.6GT through to the STI Sport, and unchanged across the A to F annual updates.
