Driver's footwell on these left-hand-drive North American cars, to the left of the steering column, on the underside of the lower dash panel roughly a hand's width forward of the trailing edge of the dash trim and almost directly above the dead pedal / footrest. The 16-pin connector faces downwards and is exposed with no flap or lid, but it sits far enough up under the trim that you will not see it from the driver's seat — kneel at the door sill with a torch and look up along the underside of the dash. Do not waste time on the hinged panel in the left kick trim just outboard of it: that is the interior fuse box, not the diagnostic socket. The position is the same on every BM trim from base 2.5i to 3.6R Limited, on manual and CVT cars, and the 2013 facelift did not move it.
