Left-hand drive only — the full-size ProMaster was never built in right-hand drive for any market, so there is one position to learn. Driver's footwell, under the lower lip of the dash to the left of the steering column and above the pedal box, roughly in line with the bonnet release handle. The 16-pin connector faces down and slightly rearward and is visible from a crouch at the open driver's door — drop your head to seat-cushion height rather than reaching in blind from the seat. Same position across all trims and all three chassis ratings (1500, 2500, 3500), and unchanged between cargo van, window van and cutaway. One thing worth knowing before you push: the socket is clipped into the trim rather than hard-mounted, and on high-mileage vans it will ride back up behind the dash when you seat a heavy connector — support it from behind with your free hand or it can part mid-read and abort a PIN extraction. If the port is completely dead, check the fuses before condemning the van.
