Location

LHD (mainland Europe): driver's footwell, up under the lower edge of the dash directly beneath the steering column and above the pedal box, with the 16-pin connector hanging face-down off the underside of the dash panel. RHD (UK): the same place relative to the driver — right-hand footwell, under the column, above the pedals. On a cab-over the floor is high and the pedal box sits tight against the bulkhead, so it is a short reach up under the dash lip rather than a long crawl; sweep from the column outwards with a torch. The socket lives on the cab harness, so the position is identical on chassis cab, dropside, tipper and box conversions, and on single and crew cab. Do not go hunting behind the passenger glovebox — that cover is the cabin fuse board. And if you find the diagnostic socket sitting next to the fuses behind a passenger-side plastic hatch, you are on the older pre-2006 Cabstar, not an F24: check the build plate before you carry on.
