Location

RHD (UK): driver's footwell, on the outboard side — to the RIGHT of the steering column as you sit in the seat, tucked up under the lower edge of the dash beside the driver's kick panel and immediately above the bonnet release lever. The 16-pin socket is bracketed to the underside of the knee bolster and faces down and slightly rearward, so you have to crouch in the door aperture and look up — you will not see it from the seat. Do not go hunting round the fuse box lid: on RHD cars the interior fuse box is in the passenger kick panel, the other side of the car entirely. LHD: the exact mirror — driver's footwell, left of the steering column, outboard, beside the bonnet release. Same position on every GH trim and on all three bodies (saloon, five-door hatch and estate), petrol and diesel, because the connector hangs off the base instrument-panel harness and is not affected by option content.
