Location

LHD: Driver's footwell, tucked up behind the lower trim panel that sits directly beneath the steering column, alongside the fuse box. The 16-pin connector faces downward, so you flip the under-column panel down and look up to find it. RHD (UK): Driver's footwell, same arrangement but on the right of the steering column behind the under-column panel above the pedals, next to the fuse box. Same position across all Ghibli trims (base, S, S Q4, Diesel) and across the 2017 and 2021 facelifts.

How to access

Lower trim panel directly under the steering column. Grab it just beneath the column and pull it down and towards the floor with your fingers - no tools needed, though it takes a firm tug and feels stiff before it releases. The 16-pin socket is mounted facing downward next to the fuse box, so reach up once the panel is dropped. On 2018-on cars the security gateway module sits in the same area above the column.
