RHD (UK): driver's footwell, directly beneath the steering column, clipped into the underside of the lower dash trim panel. It sits back and up behind the leading edge of that panel rather than hanging down in plain view, so most people find it by reaching up and feeling for it — a lot of owners look once, decide it isn't there, and give up. No flap and no cover: the 16-pin connector is exposed, and it unclips rearwards out of its bracket towards the bulkhead. LHD: mirror image, driver's footwell beneath the steering column on the left-hand side of the car. Same position on every Velar trim and on both the 2017-2020 and 2021-on cars. On UK cars expect the socket to have been messed with: OBD locking boxes, dummy sockets and relocation kits are very common on this model, so if the bracket holds a connector that won't talk, the live socket is usually cable-tied up behind the same lower dash panel or locked inside a steel box behind the dash end trim.
