RHD (UK): driver's footwell on the right of the steering column, at the lower outboard corner of the crash pad where the plastic knee panel ends, immediately beside the accelerator pedal — the panel directly in front of your right shin carries an 'OBD' moulding. The 16-pin D-shaped connector is exposed with no cover or trim to remove, but it sits far enough back and low enough that you have to open the driver's door fully and kneel beside the car to get a lead on it squarely. LHD: mirrored — lower dash to the left of the steering column, above the pedals next to the clutch. Same position on every ED trim and across all three bodies (five-door hatch, SW estate, pro_cee'd three-door). Do not be caught out by the 20-pin Kia-specific diagnostic connector in the engine bay behind the fuse box — that is a different socket and will not take a 16-pin lead.
