Location

Driver's footwell, left of the steering column, in a rectangular cut-out in the underside of the dashboard just below the lower instrument-panel trim and roughly above the parking-brake pedal. The nearest landmark is the hood-release lever on the left kick panel — the connector sits just inboard of it, so if you find the hood release you are within a hand's width of the port. The connector points down and slightly rearward, so from the driver's seat you feel it before you see it; drop your head towards the footwell and look up at the underside of the dash. Same position on every Patriot trim and every model year from 2007 to 2017, and unchanged by the 2011 facelift. US-market cars are left-hand drive only.
