Driver's footwell, at the outboard end of the lower dash trim beside the driver's kick panel — left of the steering column, above the dead pedal, with the 16-pin connector facing straight down. It is exposed and immediately visible from the seat; nothing has to be removed to plug in. Same position on every JT trim from Sport through Sport S, Willys, Overland, Mojave, Rubicon and High Altitude. Look straight up from the socket and you will find a metal cross-brace, and just inboard of it the Security Gateway module bolted to the back of the kick-panel speaker enclosure — that is where the real work happens on this truck, not at the socket itself.
