RHD (UK): driver's footwell, in the lower dash to the right of the steering column, roughly level with the driver's right knee. The 16-pin socket sits at the bottom of the cabin fuse-panel recess, so the fuse box lid is the landmark — not the bonnet release, and not the connector on the firewall by the ABS pump, which is a different plug. LHD: mirror image, lower dash to the left of the steering column, same fuse-panel recess. Identical on every Kona Electric trim (SE, Premium, Premium SE, SE Connect, Ultimate) and unchanged by the 2021 facelift.
Snap-off plastic fuse-panel cover with a moulded finger pull — take it straight off towards you, no tools. The 16-pin connector is visible immediately at the bottom of the fuse compartment. The cover is cut tight around the socket, so a bulky VCI will hold the lid open; if you need it shut with something plugged in, the socket unclips from its bracket and pushes back a few millimetres.
