RHD (UK/IE): Driver's footwell, low on the right-hand side under the dashboard, just above the pedals and to the right of the steering column. The 16-pin connector sits behind the lower trim/closing panel that runs along the bottom edge of the dash; it faces down and is partly tucked up out of sight, so reach in from the footwell or use a torch. LHD (mainland Europe): mirror-image position - driver's footwell, low on the left-hand side under the dash, above the pedals and left of the steering column. Same location across panel van, Tourneo Custom and the battery-electric E-Transit Custom; the dash layout is shared.
On vans fitted with the lower closing trim, the connector hides behind a small clip-in plastic panel at the bottom edge of the dash - pull it off by hand, no tools needed, and the 16-pin socket is immediately behind it. On vehicles where the lower dash is open the socket is exposed and visible once you crouch in the footwell.
