LHD (US/Canada): low on the driver's side of the dash, left of the steering column towards the driver's door, directly below the rotary headlight switch, behind the small storage compartment/trim cover in the lower dash. The connector faces down into the footwell above the pedals. Same dash and position on sedan and hatchback, S, SE, Titanium and ST, 2011-2019. If the socket powers your tool but won't talk to any module, it may have been relocated or a dummy fitted, so follow the loom up behind the light switch.
Open the small compartment/cover below the headlight switch by hand (pull the top edge towards you). The 16-pin socket is behind it in the dash recess. No tools needed. The socket is clipped in and can be pushed out with a flat screwdriver on its side tab if you need slack for a lead.
