Not in the footwell: the 16-pin socket is in the centre console, low down below the heating/air-conditioning controls and just ahead of the gear lever, hidden behind a clip-in trim panel. Same position before and after the 2015 facelift and on all trims. On a right-hand-drive car it sits in the same centre-console spot - if the trim panel is not where you expect, check the lower dashboard trim either side of the console before going into the footwell.
Clip-in plastic trim panel on the face of the centre console below the climate controls, not labelled. It is tight: release it with two small flat blades or a trim tool at the edges, drop it slightly and pull it out - it scratches easily. Socket is visible once the panel is off. Refit by locating the lower guides first, then tilting the panel up and clipping it in.
