Location

Below the dashboard on the driver's side, behind the same style of pull-down fuse box cover, left of the steering column. Same arrangement on every Mk1 trim including the Pluriel, and unchanged across the 2005 facelift.

How to access

The socket sits behind a plastic fuse box cover. Drop the trapdoor under the steering column. No tools needed — the cover unclips by hand. The 16-pin connector is visible once the cover is off, though it sits recessed alongside the fuses so you reach in to seat the lead.
