Diagnostic port location (OBD)
Illustrative — for orientation only.
Driver's side, under the lower left edge of the instrument panel, immediately left of the steering column and above the pedal box, with the 16-pin connector facing rearward towards the driver. It sits tucked up behind the lip of the dash rather than hanging down, so you will not spot it from a normal seated position - drop your head to seat-cushion height and it is right there above the parking brake pedal. No cover, flap or coin tray: the connector is bare. Same position on every 2008-2012 trim including LS, 1LT, 2LT, 3LT, LTZ, 2LZ and the 2008-2010 Hybrid; these cars were built LHD only for the US and Canada so there is no RHD position to allow for. Only pins 1, 4, 5, 6, 14 and 16 are populated - pin 1 is the low-speed single-wire bus that the immobiliser module and the remote receiver actually live on, so a scan tool that only speaks 500k CAN will see the engine but not the theft-deterrent module. If the port is completely dead, it is nearly always the 10A HVAC CTRL/BATT fuse that feeds pin 16: it lives in the third fuse block, on the right-hand side of the centre console, so slide the front passenger seat back, pull the cover off by the finger holes at its front edge, and the fuse map is printed on the inside of that cover.
