Location

LHD: driver's footwell, set into the underside of the lower dash on the door side, directly above the footrest and just ahead of the driver's left knee - the socket faces downwards so you feel for it rather than see it. UK RHD: driver's footwell on the right-hand side of the car, in the underside of the lower dash above the pedal area, facing downwards. Same position on all F54 trims; use a phone camera to spot it.

How to access

Small plastic cover clipped over the socket - slide or pull it off by hand, no tools. The 16-pin connector is then exposed facing downwards.
