Centre console, inside the storage compartment/armrest cubby between the front seats, towards the FRONT of the cubby just behind the handbrake. The 16-pin connector sits under a small (~25 x 38 mm) plastic lid embossed 'OBD-II'. Because the socket is on the centreline of the car the position is identical on LHD and RHD C70 Mk1 coupe and convertible, and across all trims (2.0T, 2.3 T5, 2.4, 2.4T). This is the early P80 location and is NOT the later P2 driver's-side kick-panel spot - don't go hunting by the driver's knee on a Mk1 C70, it isn't there.
Lift the centre armrest/storage compartment lid. At the front of the cubby (shallow front section) is the small plastic cover marked 'OBD-II', held by a single clip. Prise it up with a fingernail, coin or small flat screwdriver - no tools strictly needed and nothing to unscrew. The 16-pin connector is immediately visible underneath once the cover is off.
