RHD (UK): driver's footwell, to the RIGHT of the steering column on the door side, directly below the drop-down storage cubby on the driver's side of the dash. You won't see it sitting in the seat — open the driver's door, kneel or lie with your head in the footwell and look up under the lower dash edge. The socket is usually a purple/mauve VAG connector. LHD: driver's side under the steering wheel, above the footrest. Same position pre-facelift and 2024 facelift, hatch and Estate. Don't go behind the glovebox — on RHD cars that's where the fuse panel is, not the OBD socket.
