Driver's side footwell, left of the pedal cluster. The connector is located above the footrest area. A small plastic cover must be opened to expose the 16-pin socket — pull the cover down or to the side; it is not screw-fixed. In RHD (UK) vehicles the port is under the steering column on the right side above the accelerator pedal. The Mk5 Mondeo OBD port location differs from the Mk4 (2007–2014) which had the port inside a storage compartment to the right of the steering column — do not confuse these generations.
