LHD (every US car): driver's footwell, under the lower edge of the dashboard to the left of the pedals, on the door side of the steering column, above the footrest. The socket sits just below a small storage cubby in the lower dash panel, so if you can find the cubby you have found the port. Same position on sDrive30i, xDrive30i, 30e and M40i, pre-LCI and LCI. It is hard to see from the seat: get your head down by the pedals with a torch.
