RHD (UK): driver's footwell on the door side of the steering column, tucked up under the lower edge of the dashboard right next to the bonnet-release handle. The 16-pin socket faces downwards, so you won't see it from the seat. Get your head down by the pedals with a torch and look up above your right shin. LHD cars have it in the mirror position, left of the column above the footrest. Same place on the G20 saloon and G21 Touring and on all trims (Sport, M Sport, M340i/M340d, 330e). The facelift changed the upper dashboard, not the lower dash.
