Location

Driver's side footwell, bottom-left of the dashboard, above the driver's pedals. The port faces downward and is accessible without removing any panel or cover — visible when you crouch and look under the left side of the dashboard from the driver's seat.

Mk2 (5J)

Location

Driver's side dashboard, below the steering column. Located behind a small flap/cover panel — pull the cover towards yourself to open it. The connector is then directly accessible. Confirmed for 2007-2011 via Klavkarr (user-photo source); 2010-2014 facelift retains identical dashboard layout and port position.
