Location

RHD (UK): driver's footwell, under the lower edge of the dash to the right of the steering column, near the bonnet-release lever and above the driver's right knee; the 16-pin socket faces down - crouch into the footwell and look up. LHD: driver's footwell, above the footrest to the left of the pedals, under the steering wheel. Same dash as the A4 B9, so the same position on Coupé, Sportback, Cabriolet, S5 and RS5 and on pre- and post-facelift cars. If a tracker, insurance box or dealer telematics dongle has been fitted, the factory socket may have been unclipped and moved - follow the flat lead back from any dongle.
