2015–2024

B9 / B9.5 (8W)

Illustration — use it to know where to look.

Location

RHD (UK): driver's footwell, under the lower edge of the dash on the door side (right) of the steering column, roughly at right-knee height near the bonnet-release lever. The 16-pin socket is pink/purple, faces down and is clipped into the lower dash trim - crouch into the footwell and look up. LHD: driver's footwell, under the lower dash to the left of the pedals and steering column, level with the footwell light, beside the driver's left knee; same pink clip-in socket. Same position on saloon, Avant, allroad, S4 and RS4, and on pre- and post-facelift cars. If a tracker or OBD-lock adapter has been fitted, the factory socket may have been unclipped and moved behind the left A-pillar/footwell side trim.

B8 / B8.5 (8K)

Illustration — use it to know where to look.

Location

RHD (UK): driver's footwell, low under the dash to the right of the steering column (door side), just above the accelerator pedal and right next to the bonnet-release lever. The 16-pin socket is pink/purple and faces down - kneel in the footwell and look up under the lower dash edge. LHD: mirror image - driver's footwell, under the lower dash on the left (door) side of the steering column, above the pedals near the bonnet release. Same position on saloon, Avant, allroad, S4/RS4 and pre- and post-facelift (B8.5) cars. Don't confuse it with the fuse panel in the end of the dashboard, which is only visible with the driver's door open.

OBD port location in a Audi A4 B7

B7 (8E/8H) 2005–2008

RHD (UK): Driver's footwell, low under the right-hand side of the steering column, above and slightly forward of the accelerator pedal, near the bonnet-release handle. The 16-pin socket is clipped to the back edge of the driver's lower storage compartment (the knee-bolster tray), so it faces down and sits behind the lip of that tray — you can see and reach it kneeling in the footwell, but you will not spot it standing at the door. Same position on every B7 trim, saloon, Avant and Cabriolet, including S4 and RS4. LHD: Mirror image — driver's footwell, low under the left-hand side of the steering column, above the accelerator, same relationship to the bonnet release and the same lower storage tray. Do not confuse it with the fuse panel, which is behind the removable end cover on the side of the dashboard, visible only with the driver's door open.

OBD port location in a Audi A4 B6

B6 (8E/8H) 2001–2005

LHD: Driver's footwell, lower left of the dashboard, near the bonnet release handle. The 16-pin connector sits above the pedals, to the left of the steering column. No cover on most trims — the connector is exposed and visible when kneeling in the footwell. Consistent across all B6 A4 trims (SE, Sport, S-line, S4, Cabriolet). RHD (South Africa and UK): Driver's footwell, lower right of the dashboard, near the bonnet release handle. Mirror position to LHD — to the right of the steering column, above the pedals. Same exposed connector with no cover.
