LHD (US/Canada market): Tesla's diagnostic Ethernet port sits in the driver's footwell cover — the lower trim panel under the left-hand side of the dash, below the steering column and the driver's knee airbag, above the footrest and pedals. Cars built Dec 2021 to Jan 2024 have a standard RJ45 socket there. Cars built Jul 2017 to Dec 2021 have a small white 5-pin Sumitomo socket in the same place, which needs Tesla lead 1137658-00-C. Same position on Standard Range, Long Range and Performance. A conventional 16-pin J1962 OBD socket may or may not be fitted (it wasn't required on EVs until 2024); where fitted it is under the dash in the driver's footwell, but on these cars it is not a diagnostic (DoIP) port — key and immobiliser work goes through the Ethernet port, not the OBD socket.
The port is mounted in the driver's footwell cover and can be reached from the footwell with the driver's door open and the seat slid back. If you need the cover off, it is held by clips and one Torx T20 screw. Lower it gently — the puddle light lead and the diagnostic lead stay plugged into the back of it.
