NATS (Nissan Anti-Theft System), post-2013 rolling 20-digit PIN generation. The BCM (Body Control Module) manages transponder authentication and communicates with the ECM on every start attempt. Intelligent Key trims (SV, SL) also include a hands-free module (HFM) for proximity detection via LF antenna network. All T32 Rogue trims use HITAG AES (ID4A) chips — both the flip key (S trim) and smart keys (SV/SL trims). This is the same NATS rolling-code architecture used on the Altima L33 and X-Trail T32. No on-board self-programming sequence exists; professional OBD tool required for all key registration.

Location

Under the driver's side dashboard, to the left of the steering column, above the pedal cluster. The 16-pin OBD-II DLC connector is behind a small plastic panel door — no tools required, pull the bottom of the panel door down to access. No trim panel removal needed. Consistent across all T32 Rogue trim levels (S, SV, SL) and all years 2014-2020.
