LHD (EU): under the dashboard to the left of the steering column, at the driver's left knee, behind a plastic cover held by two screws. RHD (UK): built into the cab fuse box cover beside the driver's right knee; the port sits bottom-left of that panel with its own dust cap. Same position on panel van, chassis cab and motorhome conversions of the X290. If an SGW bypass is needed, that plugs in at the gateway behind the glovebox, not at this port.
Undo the two screws on the lower-dash cover beside the driver's knee and lift it away — a crosshead screwdriver is all you need. The 16-pin port then shows with a small dust cap on it; pull the cap off. On RHD vans the same panel is the fuse box cover.
