Gen 1 (pre-Highland)

Illustration — use it to know where to look.

Location

Pre-Highland (2017–2023): Proprietary Tesla diagnostic connector in the driver's side footwell cover — exposed in the upper surface of the footwell cavity. NOTE: Not a standard OBD2 J1962 socket; requires a Tesla-to-OBD2 adapter cable. A secondary CAN connector is also located at the rear of the centre console, accessed by removing the lower rear panel between the front seats (five push-fit clips). Highland (2024+): Proprietary 10-pin front diagnostic connector, driver's side footwell cover, near the right foot. Different connector profile from pre-Highland; requires a Highland-specific adapter.
